Biocides Registration Specialist (Brussels based – Hybrid work model possible)
Help shape the future of biocidal product safety – with science, strategy, and purpose.
Are you ready to apply your expertise in regulatory science to make a meaningful impact on human health and environmental safety? Do you enjoy solving complex challenges and working closely with clients to help them bring safe and compliant products to the market?
At ToxMinds, we help our clients succeed in a demanding regulatory landscape by combining toxicological and environmental expertise with a practical, solution-oriented approach. We’re passionate about advancing modern risk assessment methodologies and are committed to using non-animal testing approaches wherever possible.
We’re currently looking for a Biocides Registration Specialist to lead high-impact projects under the EU Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) and help us grow our services in this evolving and critical area.
What You’ll Do – Your Mission
As a Biocides Registration Specialist, you’ll take the lead on strategic registration projects for biocidal actives, products, and product families. Your work will help clients meet regulatory requirements efficiently, confidently, and with scientific integrity.
Here’s what your role will involve:
- Design and manage BPR registration strategies tailored to each client’s needs.
- Conduct thorough data gap analyses, recommend cost-effective testing strategies, and manage testing programmes when needed.
- Guide/lead our teams to develop scientifically robust risk assessments, including hazard, exposure, and higher-tier assessments (e.g., for endocrine disruption).
- Work closely with clients to provide strategic advice on complex toxicological or environmental issues that could impact authorisation success.
- Lead the development of dossiers and supporting documentation, including R4BP submissions.
- Represent clients in post-submission interactions with authorities and guide them through responses or follow-up requirements.
- Support consortium management and third-party representation, including LoA cost negotiations.
- Mentor and support junior colleagues, contributing to team development and internal knowledge sharing.
- Help us expanding our biocides services by identifying new trends and opportunities in science and regulation.
Who You Are – Your Profile
We’re looking for someone who combines technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills – and who thrives in a collaborative, client-facing environment.
You’re likely to be a great fit if you have:
- A PhD or Master’s degree in toxicology, environmental sciences, chemistry, biology, or a related field.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in biocides registration or regulatory compliance (preferably industry or consulting).
- A solid understanding of the EU BPR framework, including dossier requirements and regulatory processes.
- Hands-on experience with risk assessment (human health and environmental), including exposure modelling and endocrine disruptor assessments.
- Strong project management skills – you know how to keep multiple moving parts on track and deliver excellent results.
- Experience engaging with regulatory authorities and handling post-submission follow-ups.
- A team mindset, a desire to share your knowledge, and the ability to mentor junior colleagues.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); other languages are a plus.
Why Join ToxMinds?
Here’s what you can expect when you join our team:
- Challenging, meaningful work across a variety of sectors – chemicals, biocides, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals.
- A supportive, friendly team culture that values collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- A flexible work environment – hybrid work options, flexible hours, and extra-legal vacation.
- A competitive salary, performance-based bonuses, and benefits including pension plan, meal vouchers, and tax-optimized remuneration options.
- Regular team-building activities to connect, share, and unwind.
- Ongoing training and development opportunities, with the chance to take on leadership roles within our senior management team.
