Consultant-Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Your mission
In this role, you will:
- Manage toxicology projects: Lead and contribute to projects in the chemicals, biocides, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical sectors, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide scientific and regulatory expertise: Offer guidance in (eco)toxicology, identifying data gaps and developing risk assessment strategies to ensure chemical and product safety.
- Deliver high-quality documentation: Prepare and submit regulatory-compliant safety documentation for internal use or regulatory submissions.
- Mentor and guide junior Toxicologists: Support skill development and technical growth within the team.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: Work with experts across various disciplines to achieve project objectives.
- Drive innovation in regulatory approaches: Contribute to the expansion of service offerings by integrating new regulatory developments, novel methodologies, and next-generation risk assessment (NGRA) strategies.
Your Profile
We are looking for a flexible, self-motivated, and team-oriented professional who can work independently and contribute to business development.
Required qualifications and skills:
- Education: Master’s degree (preferably a PhD) in (eco)toxicology, biology, environmental chemistry, computational toxicology, or pharmacology. Certification in (eco)toxicology is desirable.
- Experience: More than 5 years of professional experience in the chemical, consumer product, or pharmaceutical industry, or in a consulting environment. ERT/DABT certifications are a plus.
- Regulatory knowledge: Proven experience in writing and submitting safety documentation under EU environmental and human health regulations (e.g., REACH, Biocidal Products Regulation, Cosmetic Product Regulation).
- Technical expertise:
- Strong background in (eco)toxicology and risk assessment.
- Experience in managing, monitoring, and interpreting (eco)toxicological studies.
- Familiarity with exposure and computational modelling tools (e.g., QSAR, PBK) and other new approach methodologies (NAMs).
- Soft skills:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills.
- Effective communication with regulatory authorities and non-industry stakeholders.
- Creative, solution-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
